About Furnal Equinox
Furnal Equinox (FE) is an annual regional furry convention held in Toronto, Ontario, and is Canada's largest furry convention by attendance. Announced in 2009, it held its first edition in March 2010 at the Doubletree by Hilton Toronto Airport, the first large hotel-based furry event in the Toronto area. The convention is operated by Anthropomorphic Events of Ontario, a non-profit corporation incorporated in June 2009 with Pakesh De, Blindsight, Crassadon, Dan Skunk and Scani as its initial directors; Pakesh De served as the first chair, later joined by Blindsight as co-chair. Founding member ShiroTora came up with the name, a play on the convention's March dates near the vernal equinox. FE traditionally invites Guests of Honour from both Canada and abroad, and raises money each year for a charity through its charity auction. After moving from the Doubletree to the Sheraton Toronto Airport and then the Westin Harbour Castle (2017–2026), the convention is moving to the Sheraton Centre Toronto and to February dates starting in 2027.

Furnal Equinox 2027 is scheduled for February 13-15, 2027, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto, the first edition at its new venue and the first to move from its traditional March dates. The announced theme is "Critter Clash", built around a competition between three factions, with DJ Amyte and Chise as Guests of Honour.

Furnal Equinox 2026 was held March 20-22, its final year at the Westin Harbour Castle, with the theme "Starbound Sabbatical". Zee the Raccoon and Finn the Panther were Guests of Honour. Registration sold out ahead of the event, which drew 3,637 attendees, including 1,867 fursuiters, and raised $30,538.14 for Procyon Wildlife.

Furnal Equinox is a Toronto-based convention celebrating the arts and culture of the furry fandom and animal enthusiasts, held during the Spring Equinox weekend in March. From the first convention in 2010 which took place at the former Doubletree Toronto Airport Hotel, it has grown into an event with over 3300 local and international attendees and costumers, and hosts a wide variety of events and performances.
